Simple Wreath

This literally took less than one minute and cost less than $4.00!
I found this wreath at Hobby Lobby 50% off 4.99 {$2.50} then just simply added this sparkly branch of berries that I found 50% off $1.29 {$.65} for a total of {$3.15}!!!!!

Lovely Pine Cone Garland

I spent my day off working on several projects I have been dreaming of doing since the first day the temperature was below 90!! Today was a perfect day to do just that - craft away!!! The day started with a lot of supplies, ideas, and blank canvas's and ended with a home decked for the holidays!!!!
My friend Lori joined me to make Pine Cone garland for our homes. We each had snagged pine cones and Gumdrops from the ground and we were ready to begin!!

{We started by spray painting them with spray paint we had on hand! Gold, white, and glitter!!}
{Once they were dry we took florist wire that Lori brought over and wrapped it around the base of the cones and twisted little loops at the top so we would have something to hang them with!}
 {Then with some twine we had on hand, we began tying them all on. (after very strategically counting, separating, and writing down the order we wanted to string them in-maybe a tad bit anal) This was fun and very simple - would have been even more simple if we had had gloves on....my fingers are a little sore...but it was totally worth it!}
{Almost finished......}
{Done and OH so lovely}

making our house a home

I just moved back from a year in Guatemala and a month later got married! I was blessed to get to move back to Texas to a wonderful home that my husband had bought for us while I was gone. I love our house, but was ready to start making it home. A few simple touches have helped to make it home! We will start re-doing a room at a time, but I wanted to be able to enjoy it for today until then!!

Our room was really killing me - needed some color!!!
So we got some white curtains and added a few pops of color from things that I found at liquidation sales and antique sales

these were the curtains that came with the house, but we found these burlap curtains on sale at World Market and it totally changed the feel of our dining room :) (even though John can't wait to get them ironed)
We also added this beauty from an antique sale to our dining room...isn't it yummy!
its all still a work in progress, but we've made it a home we can enjoy for today...will keep you posted as we keep working!

simply made chalk-pin board

3.00 garage sale find!

I saved some card board from curtains I bought recently, and simply cut it to fit in the chalk board and apples section of this board!

Took a can of spray paint and covered the green with a shiny black!

I had originally planned on just painting the top section, but mid-project decided to just paint the card board so that we could have a pin-board! So I painted it this beautiful coral from a sample I bought at Lowe's for 3.00 and now have this lovely pop of color in our kitchen!!
